As you arrive to the Chatswood StreetFair, you'll start hearing music from all corners.

With 3 massive stages full of entertainment, dancing and live bands, there is a tune for all music lovers and space for you to join in the dancing at the StreetFair.

The Rhythm and Rock Stage

Once the StreetFair opening ceremony and parade conclude, the most talented students from our local schools and bands will rock out on the stage. The Rhythm and Rock Stage will be MC’d by Jeremy and Jon from Creative Sounds Studios and School.

11:30am Salvation Army Big Band

The Salvation Army Big Band was formed approximately 6 months ago for our Christmas concert. Things seemed to go really well and we decided to keep the band going. The band is quite unique as it consists of many combinations of husband and wives, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters and even a grandfather in there as well. So the band is a real family affair.

Performance time: 11:30am to 12:20pm

12:00pm Oxford Falls Big Band

The Oxford Falls Big Band is a fantastic band made up of students in year 5 to 8 at school. They are all very active in the performing arts at school and take pride in presenting a tight performance for all to hear.

12:30pm Creative Sounds Studios and School

Creative Sounds Studios and School is the home of music and creativity on the Lower North Shore. They provide opportunities for musicians to connect with one another, practicing communication a team work skill that will serve them in all avenues of their lives. Their mission is to generate a culture where the natural instinct is to get involved.

Performance time: 12:30pm to 1:20pm

1:30pm Riverside Girls High School Jazz Ensemble

Riverside Girls High School Jazz Ensemble is based in Gladesville. The Jazz Ensemble consists of students from years 8 to 11 led by conductor David Brinsmead.

Performance time: 1:30pm to 1:55pm

2:05pm Northern Youth Symphonic Wind

Northern Youth Symphonic Wind is a dynamic youth concert band providing talented students with an opportunity to further their passion for music and develop their performance abilities. The founder of the group, Matthew Wannsley, organised a small group in 2009, which grew from its original 20 members to around 60 musicians today. The group has won many awards at National band championships, State band championships and other competitions.

2:40pm The Big Music Bandits

The Bandits are a group of elite young musicians from Big Music School and Studios in Crows Nest. With a repertoire across rock, pop, funk, soul and more, they love to perform at community events, fundraisers, festivals and private functions.

Performance time: 2:40pm to 3:30pm

3:40pm Willoughby Girls High School Stage Band

The Willoughby Girls Stage Band includes students from year 8 to 12 and is an integral part of the school's prestigious music program. This includes a string orchestra, several concert bands and vocal ensembles that are available to students in all years and skill levels. The ensemble’s conductor, Murray Jackson is active across Sydney as a conductor and jazz musician.

 Performance time: 3:40pm to 4:05pm

4:15pm Northside Concert Band

Northside Concert Band is a community band who play a variety of music including pop, classical, jazz and movie themes. Our conductor is Jenny Ridgway.

Their members range in age from 20s to 80s. Some have played instruments all their life whilst others have only taken up music at a later age. They are open to learning and playing any style of music.

5:10pm Mercy College Concert Band

The Mercy College Concert Band is excited to present a range of music to you. This band is made up of students from years 7 to 12 and is conducted by Mrs. Emma McWade.

The Bubblegum Stage

Lower Podium at The Concourse

Up-and-coming local talent will dazzle with toe-tapping dance routines and catchy tunes starting at 11:30am. Experience performances from the North Shore’s best dance and singing schools, and say you saw them before they were famous. The Bubblegum stage will be MC'd by Nick Gell.

Evolution Performance Centre is a performing arts studio located in the heart of Crows Nest. At EPC they strive to nurture and develop talent, celebrate the achievements of all students and inspire a love and appreciation of all styles of dance and the performing arts. EPC are committed to provide a safe and positive environment in which all students can feel empowered, comfortable and free to express themselves.

12:30pm The Jazz Factory

The Jazz Factory, located at Gordon Centre, is the north shore’s most popular dance studio, offering professional performing arts training in an inclusive and nurturing environment. With a goal to cultivate a passion for the arts while fostering a welcoming and supportive environment that feels like home. The Jazz Factory is dedicated to empowering young performers to reach their full potential and achieve their dreams. Please welcome the Dance Company to perform today, a special program for passionate performers and aspiring artists.

1pm Willoughby Band

Following is our own Willoughby Band, one of the country’s leading brass bands. Formed in 1959, the band has won multiple Australian and New South Wales championships. The band was the leading Senior and Junior A Grade combination in NSW for over 25 years. Along with their impressive contest results, the band is well renowned for their musical excellence.

The band boasts some of the finest soloist and musicians in the country, with many professionals both joining and coming out of the band. The band is extremely proud to represent the Willoughby community, and grateful for the support of Willoughby City Council, and you, the citizens of Willoughby.

2pm ADVC Performance Studio

ADVC

ADVC performance studio is based in Drummoyne and Concord. They offer private lessons, weekly group classes and school holiday workshops in singing, acting, and musical theatre, led by Miss Alana De Roma.

Alana has focused on sharing what she has learnt over her career with the children she has taught over the past 15 years. She is motivated by her love of the arts. It is what has inspired her to share her knowledge so that the children she teaches can achieve their own goals in singing, the arts and life.

Olivier's Singing studio helps people find their voice, their confidence and is known for developing very strong vocalists in both kids and adults.

3pm Dancique School of Dance

Dancique School of Dance in Roseville, strives to provide a safe, supportive and encouraging dance environment for all their students. The team of passionate teachers aim to incorporate elements of fun learning, creativity and growth to ensure students are excited to dance each week.

Dance classes in jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, contemporary, ballet, acro, musical theatre are offered to kindergarten to year 12 students of all levels and abilities. Also catering to recreational groups, competitive teams and soloist.

3:15pm Tanya Pearson Academy

Since 1971, The Tanya Pearson Academy has long been established as a premier ballet academy with an international reputation. The founder of the school, Tanya Pearson, was recognised by the Australian Government and awarded the Order of Australia Medal for her significant contribution to the arts in Australia.

The TPA offers a variety of selective part time programs, transition and accelerate programs, boys ballet and dance programs and accredited full time programs, providing world-class training and education for aspiring young artists in Australia and worldwide. The full time program is designed to optimally prepare and guide talented students wishing to pursue a professional career in ballet and contemporary ballet companies.

3:30pm Tiny Toes Ballet

Tiny Toes Ballet specialises in 2 to 7-year-old ballet dance classes in the Hills, Inner West and right here in Chatswood at Chatswood Baptist Church.

Performance time: 3:30pm to 3:40pm

3:40pm North Shore Dance Academy

North Shore Dance Academy is a professional, but fun and caring dance school located in St Ives. They offer classes for age 3 and over, and train school aged students for ballet examinations at a high level.

4pm Centre Stage Academy

Centre Stage Academy is located in Chatswood on the Pacific Highway. Students learn a variety of different styles of dance such as ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap, musical theatre, breakdance, acrobatics and dance cirque ranging from ages 3 years old to 18 years old.

4:30pm GPower Dance Fitness

Gpower Dance Fitness is located on Willoughby Road in Naremburn. Giselle Peacock is the proud owner of the studio and today her students will showcase some of the different classes and styles available at Gpower from dance fit, Latin, kids and JFH.

5pm RJ Performing Arts

RJ Performing Arts has a diverse range of classes and a vibrant community. At RJ Performing Arts they are dedicated to empowering individuals and fostering a love for the performing arts. RJ Performing Art’s classes cater to a wide age range, ensuring that everyone, from tiny tots to seasoned adults, can find a program that suits their interests and aspirations.

The World Fusion Stage

Once you pass by the laughters of children at the mobile zoos and savoring your way through the international food stalls and food trucks, head to the World Fusion Stage. It celebrates the diversity of our community with its rich traditions and vibrant colour. The World Fusion Stage will be MC'd by Northside Radio Announcers.

11:30am Spreagadh na Rince Studio

From Riverdance to Lord of the Dance, the West End to Broadway and beyond, Irish dance has swept the world up in spectacular fashion making it the dance phenomenon of its generation.

The Spreagadh na Rince (Spra-ga-na-rink-a) school of Irish dancing opened in 2012 and over the past 10 years they have enjoyed a great deal of success both here in Australia as well as performing across the world in New Zealand, Canada, Scotland, The UK and of course Ireland.

Spreagadh na Rince (Spra-ga-na-rink-a) has classes for children as young as 3 years with their 'Jump’n’Jig' preschool program as well as adult classes and everyone in between, with classes held in their studio in Crows Nest as well as classes held in the North Ryde and Glenorie.

11:45am Korean Traditional Musician and Dance Incorporated (Toulim)

Korean Traditional Musician and Dance Incorporated (Toulim) is a non- profit organization, who performs with four kinds of the traditional Korean musical instruments and folk dance. The group was established in 2010 by the 6 people who were passionate of the beauty of the Korean culture.

The mission of the group has been continued with growing members and sharing the beautiful Korean culture in Australian communities. They feel so privileged to introduce their culture to multi- cultural society where we live in now.

12pm Australasian Art & Stageworks Inc

Australasian Art and Stageworks (AASI) is a not-for profit incorporated association dedicated to providing opportunities for culturally diverse artists and performers.

Since its formation in 2011, AASI has provided a range of events that entertain and educate the multicultural Australian community. These events have been performances and exhibitions by Asian Australian artists, in theatre plays, Chinese opera, concerts and variety shows, plus exhibitions such as the recent very successful Chinese opera costumes display and talk at Hong Kong House.

12:30pm Thai Classical Music Club

From Thailand, the 'Land of Smiles', we present the Thai Classical Music Club.

This is a local Thai community group who encourages their children to embrace their cultural heritage through Thai dance and the learning to play traditional Thai musical instruments, and this group has now been based in Chatswood for more than 10 years.

Performance time: 12:30pm to 12:55pm

12:55pm MOSAIC Indian Social Group

A Folk Dance by Sumedha Sinha - This is a beautiful folk dance that comes from the state of Rajasthan which is in the West of India. This dance shows a gypsy lady narrating the condition of her heart that aches for a lover who left long ago and never returned.

Performance time: 12:55pm to 1pm

1pm MOSAIC Chinese Social Group

MOSAIC Chinese Social Group will perform two line dance routines, showcasing the dancers' creativity, good choreography, and beautiful , colourful costumes.

1:10pm MOSAIC Chinese Folk Dance Group

MOSAIC Chinese Folk Dance Group, with an average age of 70, will perform three dances for everyone.

The first one is Our Life is Full of Sunshine, which fully reflects the contemporary women's love for life and positive spirit. The second is The Horizon, which reflects the customs of the herdsmen in northwest China. The third is Walking on the Road of Life, which represents the customs of southeastern China in modern times.

Performance time: 1:10pm to 1:20pm

1:20pm MOSAIC Tai Chi Group

MOSAIC Tai Chi comprises 2 classes: post beginner and intermediate. Most of the performances are intermediate level students with some ex-students who have completed intermediate level.

1:30pm MOSAIC Indian Social Group

MOSAIC-Indian-Social-Group.jpg A A Peppy Bollywood Dance by Suchita, Shipra, Shiva and Reetika. These lovely ladies are performing a medley of 3 famous songs.

Bollywood dance is a popular and energetic dance style that originates from the Indian film industry, known as Bollywood. This dance form blends classical Indian dance, folk dance, and modern Western styles. It's characterised by vibrant costumes, expressive gestures, and a combination of storytelling and high-energy movements.

Bollywood dance has gained international popularity and is often taught in dance studios around the world. It's a great way to explore Indian culture, get a good workout, and have fun!

The second dance will be a Bharatnatyam Indian classical dance by this beautiful mother-daughter duo - Soma Chanda and Tooshani Chanda.

This dance is Shiva Strotam which is a powerful hymn dedicated to Lord Shiva, one of the principal deities in Hinduism. The rhythmic chanting of this hymn is said to have a calming effect on the mind and help the devotee enter a meditative state. It is often used as a tool for spiritual growth and self improvement.

2pm MOSAIC Japanese Folk Dance Group

MOSAIC Japanese Folk Dance Group will present you different kinds of Japanese dance to bring spring to this StreetFair. 

MOSAIC Japanese Folk Dance Group is one of the community classes run by Willoughby Council’s MOSAIC Multicultural Centre in Chatswood.  MOSAIC Japanese Folk Dance Group is open to the public and welcoming new members.  If you are interested, please check their website and social media.

2:15pm Sydney Japanese Dance

Sydney Japanese Dance will present you different kinds of Japanese dance to bring spring to this StreetFair.  This time, Sydney Japanese Dance has teamed up with the International Kimono Club Sydney (IKCS) especially for this stage.   

IKCS is a Sydney-based non-profit organization for people who are interested in Japanese kimono and Japanese culture. IKCS is open to the public and welcoming new members.  If you are interested, please check their website and social media.

Performance time: 2:15pm - 2:30pm

2:30pm Chatswood Line Dancing Group

The Chatswood Line Dancing Group is a group of line dance lovers formed for attending line dancing classes, learning varieties of dances. The group is also active in participating performances to entertain the community. They are pleased to perform 5 dances including cha cha, K-pop, jazz, waltz and country style line dances on the StreetFair day.

3pm International Youth Fellowship

IYF dance group Ebenezer, comprised of 10 dedicated high school students spreading joy and happiness through their captivating dance performances. Their vision is to be a beacon of joy and inspiration through dance, touching lives and fostering community spirit across Australia. The first dance is called Taekwonmu, which is a Taekwondo-inspired dance. The second dance is called Jeunesse, an African cultural dance.

Performance time: 3pm - 3:15pm

3:15pm St Paul's Line Dance Group

St Paul’s Line Dance Group is pleased to perform 4 dances of different styles and music. The dance choreography will include waltz, cha cha, Zumba, and rock 'n' roll.

3:45pm Dance of Love Inc

Dance of Love Inc will perform twice:

1) Chinese modern dance: The world.

The train of the years never stops for anyone. 'The platform of fate, the joys and sorrows are all moments'. May you step through thousands of waves and stay by your loves side. 

2) Chinese fan dance: The dance Beautiful Fan Dance uses fans as dance props, breaking through the softness of classical women's dance. It is bold and powerful. The dance not only highlights the unique charm and spirit of Chinese dance, but also allows the audience to feel the infinite charm of the evolution of Chinese dance. Enjoy the performance and immerse yourself in the fascinating world of Chinese dance.

3:50pm SYD48

SYD48 is a cover group of the Japanese Idol group AKB48!

We re-make their songs with English translated lyrics (translated by the group) and perform the songs and dance as a group using a prerecorded backing track. Our goal is to help bring the unique idol culture of Japan to Sydney and while we are not an official AKB48 sister group by any means, we are keen to embrace their concept of 'idols you can meet' with the people of Chatswood.

Performance time: 3:50pm - 4:10pm

4:15pm Sydney Samba & The Sambinhas

Sydney-Samba-The-Sambinhas.jpg Sydney Samba is a multicultural collective of drummers and dancers who play the vibrant, explosive and irresistible music of the Brazilian carnival.

Playing the traditional percussion instruments of the famous Rio and Bahian blocos, Sydney Samba plays a repertoire that ranges from world famous carnival samba to the Caribbean inflected samba-reggae; to the folkloric Afro-Bahian Afoxe to the more contemporary sounds of hip hop and funk.

We have provided the excitement of carnival to a number of outdoor events, including the Great Australian Beer Spectapular (GABS), Bastille Festival, Mopoke Festival, Global Rhythms Festival, Meatstock Festival, The Easter Show, Parramasala, Creativity Unleashed, and more.

4:45pm Japan Club of Sydney Hula Aloha Hawaiian Dance Group

The main reason why Japan Club of Sydney Hula Aloha Hawaiian Dance Group was created is to provide a harmonious environment where women could come together as a group to learn dance, be happy and healthy and most importantly enjoy themselves and have fun!

Performance time: 4:45pm - 5:15pm

5:15pm Chinese Youth League Cultural Dance Group

Chinese Cultural Dance Group of Chinese Youth League of Australia has been established for many years. During these years, the CYL Dance Group performed at the Sydney Opera House, Parliament House, the Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony, and many other Sydney City Council events, especially performed every year for the City of Sydney Lunar Year celebrations.

Soma Flower Blossom: This is a Yi ethnic dance. The Yi dance is colourful, graceful in movement, rich in taste and national style, which is well known for its vibrant rhythms and energy. It is a dance poem that blends mythological stories with Yi culture.  It fully shows the infinite charm of Yi culture and rich national customs. 

Blooming Roses: Rose is the burning dream in every lady’s heart. It blooms quietly in ladies’ dreams, sweet and romantic. Mixed with the atmosphere of the times and splendid dance movements, let us follow the passionate ladies’ footsteps to appreciate the charm of blooming roses through the vibrant dance and the fashionable clothes.

Handkerchief Dance: Handkerchief Dance is one of the traditional Chinese art forms, originating from northern folk culture. It is a lively and charming dance performance typically performed by two dancers. They hold coloured handkerchiefs, dancing to the rhythm of the music with graceful and infectious movements. This dance is commonly seen at weddings, celebrations, and folk gatherings, showcasing the beauty and charm of traditional Chinese culture.

5:20pm Sydney Hills Garden Shire Chinese Folk Art Inc

The Sydney Hills Chinese Folk Art Group is a popular art team in Sydney. The dance they will perform is We are in Youth.

The ballads of childhood drifted in the wind and the youth flew far away. Dear friends, we are still young. Our lives are full of sunshine. How happy we live in Australia!

5:25pm Sydney Soran Dance Troupe

Soran is a style of traditional dance that originates from northern Island of Japan, Hokkaido. 

 Our second dance, Nanchu Soran is a famous fisherman’s dance and it is taught at schools in Japan. The dance movement shows the process of catching fish.

5:42pm Pepa Molina Flamenco Dance Academy

Pepa Molina Flamenco Dance Dance Academy is based in Lidcombe, Sydney, where internationally acclaimed Flamenco choreographer Pepa Molina mentors emerging artists and trains children and adults from beginners through to advanced levels. 

Pepa Molina is a world-class artist and the most lauded professional Spanish flamenco dance artist in Australia. With a home base in Western Sydney, Pepa has developed over decades an expansive and dedicated audience following, developed strong work, and is endorsed by not just the Spanish communities she works with but by the Spanish Consulate and other high-ranking officials as a leader in flamenco dance in Australia.
