Qin Zhuan, Han tile and stone rubbings - Chinese relics exhibition
Described as a 1000 year-old photocopying technique, the exhibition shows long before the printing press was created China could reproduce images and characters by carving tiles and rubbing paint to produce a copy.
More than 150 pieces of painting bricks from the Han, Song, Qing and Yan Zhenqing dynasties will be on display, offering a look into how messages were communicated, and the politics of the day – faith, work, life.
A must-see for anyone with an interest in Chinese history, calligraphy, art and printing.
Exhibition produced by Zhenya Hall.
